World Steel Association: Global crude steel production fell 3.0% year on year in December

According to the official website of the World Steel Association on January 25, the crude steel production of the 64 countries included in the statistics of the World Iron and Steel Association in December 2021 was 158.7 million tons, down 3.0 percent year-on-year.

In December 2021, Crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million tons, down 9.6% year on year; Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 116.1 million tons, down 4.4% year on year; Crude steel production in the CIS region was 8.9 million tons, down 3.0% year on year; Crude steel production in the European Union (27 countries) was 11.1 million tons, down 1.4% year on year; Crude steel production in the rest of Europe was 4.3 million tons, down 0.8%. Middle East crude steel production was 3.9 million tons, up 22.1% year on year; Crude steel production in North America was 9.7 million tons, up 7.5% year on year. Crude steel production in South America was 3.5 million tons, down 8.7 percent year on year.
