Chen Derong, Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of China Baowu, pointed out at the meeting that it is of great significance to hold the first general assembly of the New Year of Baowu on the first working day of 2023, which reflects the great importance and firm determination of the group company to promote the work of safety production and energy and environmental protection, hoping to further enhance the awareness, implement the responsibility, deepen the management reform, and promote scientific and technological innovation. We will do a good job in work safety, energy and environmental protection this year. Hu Wangming, general manager and deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Baowu attended the meeting and made a speech, and signed the 2023 year safety fire protection, energy and environmental protection responsibility letter with the subsidiary and headquarters functional departments.
It is necessary to deepen the construction of “one headquarters and multiple bases” security management mode, and strengthen the matrix cross-responsibility of localized horizontal management and professional vertical management. In recent years, with the advancement of professional integration, Baowu subsidiaries have formed a management and control mode of one headquarters and multiple bases. It is necessary to further strengthen the responsibility of production safety in the territory, strengthen the construction of a community of common destiny between steel base and multi-industry production and operation layer, so as to solve the new problems caused by management reform and docking.

Baowu cannot withstand a major environmental responsibility accident, which will have a devastating impact on our brand image and value. We must cherish the brand image of enterprises as we cherish our own lives, and fulfill the main responsibility of environmental protection.
About the ultimate energy efficiency benchmark to reach the standard. The Group has released the Baowu Extreme Energy Efficiency Technology Recommendation Catalog (2022), which covers a total of 102 technologies in each process and public auxiliary system of steel production, which can be said to be the most effective implementation path of extreme energy efficiency at present. It is hoped that all subsidiaries will study and apply it as soon as possible, and at the same time discuss and study new environmental protection and energy saving technologies suitable for themselves based on the actual situation, so as to form a good atmosphere of chasing each other and innovating experience within the group.
