[BDI index falls to two-week low]

The Baltic Dry index fell to its lowest level in more than two weeks on Monday as rates for smaller ships fell. The Baltic Dry Index fell 12 points, or 0.5%, to 2,277, its lowest level since Dec. 24, 2021. The Capesize index rose 122 points, or 5%, to 2,554. Capesize earnings rose $1,014 per day to $21,181. The Panamax index fell 108 points, or 3.7 percent, to 2, 849. Daily profit for Panamax ships fell $965 to $25,645. The index for super-convenient ships fell 73 points to 2,001, the lowest since April 2021.
